QUESTION:
How do I set my browser to check for new versions of stored pages every time a page is visited?

ANSWER:

Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.x and higher PC:

  1. Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Settings button.
  3. Under Check for newer version of stored pages,, verify that there is a check in the box next to Every visit to the page.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Refresh the browser.

Microsoft® Internet Explorer 5.2x and above Mac OS X:

  1. Select Preferences from the Explorer menu.
  2. Under the Web browser drop-down box, select Advanced.
  3. Under Upate Pages: verify that Always is selected.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Refresh the browser.

Internet Explorer 5.x on Mac OS 9.x and below:

  1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
  2. Under the Web browser drop-down box, select Advanced.
  3. Under Upate Pages: verify that Always is selected.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Refresh the browser.

Netscape 6.x and above PC and Mac OS 9.x and below:

  1. Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
  2. Click the arrow next to Advanced in the Category list.
  3. Click Cache.
  4. Under Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network:, verify that there is a check in the box next to Every time I view the page.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Refresh the browser.

Netscape 7.x and above Mac OS X:

  1. Select Preferences from the Netscape menu.
  2. Click the arrow next to Advanced in the Category list.
  3. Click Cache.
  4. Under Compare the page in the cache to the page on the network:, verify that there is a check in the box next to Every time I view the page.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Refresh the browser.
